Dr. Shane Hamilton, affectionately known as “Dr. Ham,” is the heart behind Smile and Breathe. With a doctorate in physical therapy (2015) and a license in therapeutic massage (Heritage College, 2004), he brings over two decades of expertise to his holistic practice. His true wisdom, however, comes from a life of diverse experiences and personal resilience.

An Air Force veteran and global nomad, Dr. Ham has worn many hats—tattoo artist, musician, HVAC installer, and father of two. Each role has shaped his adaptable, empathetic approach to healing, allowing him to connect deeply with his patients.

Dr. Ham has worked in diverse settings, including outpatient clinics specializing in long-term chronic pain and home health, where he focused on vestibular disorders and guided patients with complex conditions like CHF, COPD, diabetes, stroke, circulatory insufficiencies, neurological and autoimmune disorders toward recovery and independence. His knack for connecting—with warmth, humor, and understanding—helps even the most vulnerable find hope and progress.

His deepest insight stems from his lifelong journey with chronic back pain, later diagnosed as ankylosing spondylitis (AS) an autoimmune disorder affecting the pelvis and spine. Having explored countless therapies—from intense strengthening, stretching, and cardiovascular exercise to biohacking, supplementation, and microbiome-focused nutrition—Dr. Ham has gained a profound understanding of the highs of hope and the lows of setbacks, which he channels into compassionate, effective care with a full body, holistic approach.

At Smile and Breathe, Dr. Ham combines clinical expertise with lived experience to offer personalized care. Blending osteopathy, massage, and lifestyle strategies, he addresses pain and dysfunction at its root. Whether through hands-on treatments, virtual consultations, or tailored home programs, he empowers patients to move better, feel better, and live vibrantly. An artist at heart, he sees each patient as a canvas for healing, guided by his motto: “Smile... Breathe... Heal...”
